The ELLA Elements

The Results Leader
Participants will have the tools, insights and motivation to “get things done”. This will include effective planning and allocation of resources, as well as the direction of resources towards timely and effective outcomes. This will include the management of the performance of themselves and colleagues.
The Enterprising Leader
Participants will develop the skills and knowledge to spot opportunities to “add value” to any situation, and display the confidence and capability to take measured risks to make “new and good things happen”
The Resilient Leader
Participants will understand the nature and consequences of pressure and stress and will have developed a range of coping skills to enable themselves and others around them to manage the challenges of an uncertain and changing context. They will understand and be able to apply generic risk management principles to any situation.
The Learning Leader
Participants will have developed an array of learning skills. These range from self assessment and awareness to information-seeking and research skills. Participants will understand how adults learn best and will have assessed their own learning styles, processes and preferences.
The Coach / Trainer Leader
The Coach / Trainer leader will have developed the skills and insights to conduct a systematic approach to Learning / training / Development (LTD) within their own context. This will include the six processes of; Identification and analysis of training situations, design and delivery of training interventions, and the assessment and evaluation of training activities.
The Thinking Leader (Innovation)
The Innovative leader will develop skills and insights to use creative thinking to design and implement solutions to challenges that they face. Initiative and imagination are addressed as are the implementation aspects. Participants will have practically applied a range of creative thinking skills to various situations, and are encouraged to apply innovation in all aspects of their lives.
The Thinking Leader (Systems)
Participants will be introduced to the essential tools of “Lean Thinking”. They will have applied value chain mapping to several examples and will be adept at developing solutions to add value or reduce waste in any process.
The Change Leader
The Change Leader understands the processes of transitions and change, and are not afraid of adapting to changing circumstances. A “journey” model will be used to examine change on several levels; personally, or in an organisation, community or society. Participants will develop the skills to assist others to manage change.
The Influencing / Advocating Leader
The Influencing Leader has developed skills in consultation and presentation and is adept in negotiating assertively or communicating effectively in a challenging setting i.e. in public, in an interview, or in a conflict or crisis situation.
The Interpersonally Aware Leader
Participants will use a psychometric tool, The PEOPLE Process® to complete self assessment profiles. They will also understand basic principles of practical psychology and be able to apply these in a variety of contexts.
The Principled Leader
The Principled Leader is versed in the principles of ethics and integrity and consistently displays them in their own behaviour. They are able to gain the trust of others and have a reputation for reliability. They have developed the confidence and courage to address issues that are wrong and to positively influence others.
The Integrated Leader
The Integrated Leader is balanced and grounded. They will be able to draw all 12 strands of the ELLA framework to work positively to improve their own situation and that of those around them. They can use the most effective approach for particular situations and have a “toolbox” of skills, insights and techniques that have a general applicability across all aspects of their lives.
